Art exhibition Shows Off Student's Knowledge

royal etiquette to the various uses of palm juice, curious visitors
to Bac Touk High School's art exhibition will have many of their
questions answered by innovative student projects. The slow, which
closes today, is the first of its kind in Phnom Penh, and displays
prize projects from the capital and Kandal Province. More than 300
primary, technical, and high school have contributed works to the on
hand to explain the projects to observers, mostly other school
children crowding around planetary displays and traditional Khmer
crafts. There are pineapples that provide battery power, house painstakingly
built from matchsticks and cigarette box replications of living
rooms. Lim Sukheng, deputy director of Bac Touk Primary School said
the student's efforts helped them better understand their lessons by
enabling them to apply their knowledge to something other than
quizzes or essays. He said in some cases the exercises can give life
skills by teaching students how to make thing they could sell once
they left school. Some of the projects contain lessons in morality,
such as illustrating the five different ways to greet royalty,
fellow students, and younger children.
