Bus
to ease yourself
Residents,
long used to answering nature's call in public places, are now
turning to a bus.
And
they have the full endorsement of the Mayor, Chea Sophara.
An
old bus has been converted into the first mobile toilet for the city
with six washrooms rooms and four washbasins.
They
are divided into men's and women's toilet, and each use is charged
at 8200.
Right
now, it stays put on Ranariddh Garden, behind River 1 restaurant, on
Sisowath Quay.
When there are large public occasions elsewhere, the toilet will
move to where it be more useful.
An
official of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, Muy Sarin,
who is m charge of the project, said response has been lukewarm with
about 20 users each day. Most of the users are foreigners, he said
and hoped that
locals would switch to the toilet form easing themselves in public
places.
The
toilets operate fro 5.30 am and 10 pm.
The
authorities are preparing 30 public toile to be installed
this
year in strategic locations, but most of them will be static ones.
