Company Background

Phnom Penh Airways Co. Ltd was officially born on October 21st, 1999. H.R.H Prince NORODOM Chakrapong is the sole owner and the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. His Royal Highness Prince Chakrapong has a lot of experience and knowledge in airline field; he was an air force pilot for many many years.

Additionally, as the former Deputy Prime Minister he was also in charge of Civil Aviation and Chief Executive Officer of Kampuchea Airlines. During that time His Royal Highness had approved the issuance of license to Dragonair to operate in Cambodia. Under his management, Kampuchea Airlines (from 1992 to 1994 also known as Royal Air Cambodge), His Royal Highness managed to clear all the company debts and also helped the airline profit in a short period.

By having a strong interest and experience in Airline Company, His Royal Highness decided to start his own airline company, which is Phnom Penh Airways. With his advises and leadership Phnom Penh Airways has spread its routes to seven destinations in Cambodia within two month time. Beside flying locally, Phnom Penh Airways is planning to fly overseas and in the process of connecting flight with other Airline Companies such as: Thai, Vietnamese, Taiwanese and Chinese. Phnom Penh Airways will also build its own airport at Poi Pet District in Banteay Meanchey Province, the border between Cambodia and Thailand.

Phnom Penh Airways Headquarters is based in Phnom Penh and owns offices in every station of the provinces.

Phnom Penh Airways has a staff of 160 including Marketing and Commercial, Finance, Human Resources, and Ground Operation Departments etc…

At the moment, Phnom Penh Airways comprises of two AN-24 aircrafts and BOEING 737-300, YAK 42D-120 seats and TU 204-200 may be with R.R Engine are on waiting list. AN-24 consists of 50 seats and 5 tons of cargo and is fitted out with modern and reliable equipments which guarantee a safe many-hour-long flight. It is hardly probable that you will need the on board emergency equipment. However, according to international requirements we get acquainted with the safety equipments.

Phnom Penh Airways has three teams of flight operation: two Cambodian and one Russian crew. Each crew consists of one pilot, one co-pilot and one flight engineer.
